At The Beach Torcross South Devon
At the start of May I was fortunate enough to spend a few days at the glorious At The Beach holiday apartments at Torcross in Devon and believe me they are without equal, you could not hope for a better 5 star holiday destination for your self catering holiday, the breathtaking views across Slapton Sands are a delight to behold.
The apartments are decorated and furnished to a very luxurious standard, with all the mod cons and a fabulous designer fitted kitchen. Nothing can beat breakfast on the terrace, basking in the morning sun and listening to the sounds of the sea.
The village of Torcross is blessed with a wonderful pub the Start Bay Inn whose reputation for selling the best fish and chips in Devon is not unfounded. For a quick snack visit the Seaspray cafe the ham, cheese and tomato paninis simply melt in the mouth.
There is a beautiful coastal cliff walk to the rear of the complex which takes you to the nearby village of Beesands and beyond with the option of returning via the beach depending on the tides.
Situated on a quiet part of the South Devon coast at Slapton Ley, midway between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge this beautiful location has unbelievable panoramic views, awesome coastal walks, perfect for adventure, exploration or simply relaxation, well away from the demands and hustle of daily life, yet close enough to the City of Plymouth and the beautiful towns of Torbay for those who require a bit of variety.

The living/dining area occupies the top floor of the house. Spectacular views over the area. 1x three seater sofa and 2x armchairs. Occasional furniture including coffee tables and reading lamps. Entertainment is provided by a flatscreen TV with digital Freeview, DVD player and Playstation. There is a selection of DVD’s and Playstation games available. Kitchen Under floor heating in the kitchen. Fully fitted kitchen with plenty of storage space and a large integral fridge, separate freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave. There is extra seating and a table in the kitchen area.Dining The dining area is at the far end of the living area. Features include a music system and a large table with four chairs. Master Bathroom Located on the ground floor, with far reaching views across the river. There is a large kingsize bed, double wardrobe, chest of drawers and a wall mounted TV with digital Freeview.Bedroom Two Situated on the first floor, this room has 2x single beds, a double wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Views overlook the patio area. A spacious room featuring a bath, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and w.c. There is also under floor heating, a shaver point and a heated towel rail. Balcony area with seating and stunning views across the river and towards the countryside and Dartmouth. Patio area and sun-deck. Outdoor eating area. Designated parking space in the marina car park.
Patio doors allow the living area to be light and airy. Seating is provided on the balcony to help enjoy the splendid views. 2x two seater leather sofas with matching foot stools. For entertainment there is a superb digital TV with DVD and a great sounding radio/cd/ipod music system. Kitchen Fully fitted with an electric double oven with halogen hob, fridge, microwave and a washer/dryer. Dining The dining table is situated in the window providing stunning views across the valley and towards Dartmouth.There are 6 matching upholstered chairs. Master Bedroom A spacious room with patio doors leading onto the balcony area. There is a king-sized bed (two single beds joined) and a large wardrobe. Bedroom Two 2x single beds and a pull out bed if required. The high quality bathroom features a large shower cubicle, w.c., wash basin and heated towel rail, and is fully tiled. Set in a peaceful location, a ten minute walk into the village centre. Stunning views from the balcony. Steps lead up to the apartment entrance. On-street parking is available.Kingswear Village Stores will do deliveries free of charge to Blue Chip properties located in Kingswear. They stock a good range of general produce in addition to cider, fruit, vegetables and meat all of which are locally sourced. If you would like to arrange a delivery for your arrival day or during your stay please call them on 01803 752291. Payment is by cash or cheque on delivery and all orders must be placed 48 hours in advance. Deliveries are available Mon – Sat 7am – 6pm; unfortunately there are no deliveries on a Sunday.
